The poem is frequently nonsensical. The author took too many liberties with the plot in order to fit his own rhyming scheme.

The poem is the original work! You can't say the author took liberties when he's the one writing it!

I can, and I did! There are entire arcs that devolve into nonsensical contrivances just to move things along!

They're not nonsensical contrivances, they're side stories! Gosh, Mikleo, it's like you don't even know the bardic creative process!

They're distractions! What kind of hero puts a rescue on hold to find some stolen artwork?

A hero with moral objections to art theft, obviously.

And of course I object to the idea as well, but there were several points in the narrative where emphasis was placed on time. For the author to contradict himself like that just shows he lacked experience in good story structure.

It added depth of character! Frederick spent so much time doing plot-heavy stuff that we didn't get to see much about his interests!

The author should have added that before or after the plot, not right in the middle of it! There's a time and place for such things.
